چکیده مقاله:

Concrete is one of the most widely used building materials whose Raw materials are inexpensive and available. Lightweight concrete is made using lightweight aggregates instead of natural aggregates (sand). The benefits of lightweight concrete include reduce concrete weight, reduce costs, strength against fire and reduce earthquake force. In this paper, the scoria lightweight aggregates is used. Lightweight concrete has less compressive strength than normal concrete. There are several ways to increase the compressive strength of lightweight concrete. One of these ways is to use a fiber reinforced polymer. There are various fibers for use in concrete, including carbon, glass, aramid and polypropylene fibers. Carbon fiber was used in this study. So that concrete cylindrical samples were encased by carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP). These fibers were adhered to the samples as one layer, two layers, and three layers. Then the compressive strength test was performed on them. The results showed a positive effect of CFRP on the compressive strength of lightweight concrete.
