IntroductionBurn injuries have multidimensional effects on burn survivors’ life. This qualitative study aimed to explore the main concerns of burn survivors after hospital discharge. Methods: This is a qualitative study with content analysis approach. The content of all telephone and face to face interviews between the specialist nurse and burn survivors in the burn survivors’ home and clinic were recorded based on the ethical rules during a three years follow-up. Then, all interviews analyzed using conventional content analysis. Results: Three categories in response to our research question were extracted including educational insufficiency , burn-related discomfort and role-dependent concerns . Conclusions: Inadequate education at hospital discharge was an important issue. Changes in appearance of burn survivors and complications following burn force them to seek different treatments even traditional ones without scientific basis in the society. Thus, education for survivors is very important during hospital discharge and it should be continued. In addition, psychological distress, threatened marital relationships of the survivors. It makes the necessity of psychological support after hospital discharge and during a long-term care. It is concluded that caring of burn survivors don’t end at hospital discharge, and it should be continued in long-term care follow-ups.
