چکیده مقاله:
Introduction: The aim of this study was to investigate the association between serum cadmium levels and bladder cancer in people with bladder cancer in Kerman province .Materials and Methods: Our study was a cross-sectional study with control group, which was performed by simple non-random sampling on 40 patients with bladder cancer in the department of urology of Kerman from April 1394 for one year. The demographic data including name, age, sex, smoking, and opium consumption were asked by the researcher in the data collection checklist. Blood samples were taken for all patients without anticoagulant and then measured by atomic absorption method. Then all the data were entered into the spss software for analysis . Results: The mean serum level of cadmium in the case group was 2.99 ± 1.45 and in the control group was 2.59 ± 0.46, although there was no statistically significant association between the two groups (P value = 0.100). Conclusion: Our data showed that the level of cadmium in patients withbladder cancer (case group) was higher than of the control group (control group), although this level was not statistically significant, and also other variables Backgrounds such as urbanization, gender, smoking and opium in bladder cancer patients did not correlate with the concentration of this element in serum between the two groups.
