Schowannoma in uncommon site(upper lip), a case report

Introduction: Schowannoma is one of the most common benign Intracranial Tumors which has originated from the Schwann cells of neural sheaths in the upper part of vestibular branch of 8th nerve especially in neurofibromatosis2 patients. Schwannoma of the head and neck region is relatively uncommon.Case Presentation: The present report describes a rare case of Schwannoma accidentally discovered in upper lip in asymptomatic patient without neurofibromatosis2 .Conclusions: It is now believed that Schwannoma could be seen in variety of anatomic sites. Thus, this diagnosis should be considered in differential diagnosis of soft tissue tumor in any location.
