Background and Objectives: Increased levels of alkaline phosphatase(ALP) are a useful and specific indicator of a liver disease.in Several liver diseases , ALP rises . An important factor in increasing the level of ALP, Is Liver cells damage due to LPS.in this research , we pay on Investigates the effect of the plant s ointment on the scientific name Anethum graveolens On liver damage caused by LPS In rats.materials and methods : In this experimental study,32 wistar rats Weighing 200-250 grams , choose randomly & assigned into 4 groups : 1-control group,2-Control group treated with hydro alcoholic extract of the Anethum graveolens,3-Liver injury(induced by lipo plastic sac),4-The hepatic injury group treated with hydro alcoholic Extrac of the plant . Groups that should receive the Hydro alcoholic Extract of the plant(groups2&4)For a week And up to an hour before injection of LPS , Daily amount of 200 mg/kg of The Prepared extract was received Intra peritoneally . Take an hour after the last dose of the Prepared extract of the plant , To cause liver damage,5 mg/kg LPS was injected intra peritoneally (groups3&4).the Serum ALP level was measured 6 hours after injection LPS . Data analysis was done by one-way ANOVA and performed by SPSS-16 software.Findings : By studying the level of ALP in different groups , it was found that the levels of this substance in the control groups And the control group treated with extract of the plant , There is no significant difference between them . Also, the serum level of this substance in the liver injury group has a significant increase (P <0.005) in comparison with the control group . In addition, Significant increase in serum ALP levels was observed in the hepatic injury group treated with hydro alcoholic extract of the plant,(P <0.05).On the other , There was a significant decrease in Serum levels of this substance in the liver damage group treated with hydro alcoholic extract of the plan , Compared with the liver injury group,(P <0.05).Conclusion: Hydro alcoholic extract of the plant significantly reduces the amount of liver enzyme, ALP, increased due to lipo plastic acid induced liver damage and It was also effective in preventing elevated oxidative stress levels induced by liver damage in rats.
