چکیده مقاله:

IntroductionBoth patient and the surgical team need to be protected from risk of infections. Surgical gloves have been recognized as an effective barrier to minimize the risk of infections. Thus the risk of exposure of either the patient or surgical team members to communicable disease when the surgical glove is perforated .is importantMaterial & MethodsThis review article was completed in October 2018, and searched in Pubmed, GoogleScholar and ScienceDirect to access related articles. Articles were selected between 2005 and 2018 and finally investigat- .ed 11 articlesResultsMost of the reviewed articles confirmed the effectiveness of double gloving and it has been advocated as an effective approach to minimize the risk of needle stick or sharps injuries and gloves perforation, especially in the inner glove that is indicator contact with wearer’s skin. Indicator system may provide added protection against blood-borne pathogens. Indicator system have a colored (e.g, bright green) inner gloveand an outer glove that is natural color (e.g, white). During surgery when the glove is breached, the color of inner glove is visible, which triggers on alert to the need to change the glove. Thus minimizing the risk .of transmission of blood-borne pathogensConclusion We conclude in these studies double gloving technique can be used as an effective means of infection control for all major and minor surgical procedures involving patients who suffering from or carriers of blood-borne pathogens. Double gloving significantly reduce the risk of skin contamination by blood fluids .and recommended it for all high-risk cases
