Evaluation of the Quality of Work Life and some risk factors among Zahedan surgeons in 2018

IntroductionQuality of life is an important factor affect improving the performance of workers. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the quality of work life of surgeons in Zahedan and determine some of the factors .affecting it Material & Methods In this cross-sectional study, 56 surgeons (including Residents and Attendants) working in government hospitals of Zahedan were selected by census method and received an informed consent from them. To achieve the research goals, a questionnaire consists of demographic information and Walton’s standardQuality of Work Life (QWL-35) was used. Data analysis was performed by SPSS 20 using descriptive statisticsand nonparametric tests (Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis). The significance level for this study.was considered to P less than 0.05ResultsThe population means of age and work experience in this study was 36.76±7.93 and 36.36±6.36 years, respectively. A half of them were men. Thirteen cases (23.2%) were single. Thirty and two ones (57.1%) were resident. The mean scores QWL in men and women were 88.71±19.10 and 86.21±16.66, respectively, and this difference was not statistically significant (p = 0.60). Also, there was no significant difference.)in QWL scores by any demographic variables (p ˃0.05 Conclusion The mean score of QWL in Zahedan surgeons was low. Refer to the sensitive role of surgeons as a medical staff and the importance of QWL, it is recommended that more comprehensive studies be done in.order to identify the more factors affecting it
