Big Data View of Communication Networks

Big data has become of high interest in recent years due to access to large scale data and significantadvances in large scale data mining and data analytics. Naturally, among wide range of applications of big dataanalytics, mobile operators have already secured a large part of market. Although extracting information frommobile operators data is based on various types of heterogeneous data gathered in such networks, its role has so farbeen mainly restricted to content extraction, customer segmentation and monetary objectives. In this work, we willinvestigate how big data concepts can lead to performance improvement in such networks, a concept that up to now ishardly explored in such networks.
