Isolation and identification of rhizosphere bacilli in the soil of Dohezar region of TONEKABON and study of their antifungal effects

Objective of bacillus genus produce antibiotic. performance of this study is to determine and identify the rhizosphere­bacilli in the soil of Dohezar region of TONEKABON and investigation of their antifungal effects. Materials and method: In this study , collection of 50 samples of soil was carried out within two times of sampling from Dohezar regions of TONEKABON. After collecting the sample, biochemical tests, in order to isolate the bacterium, were used for the purpose of accurate identification of the desired strain. Antifungal activity of the gram-positive bacilli isolated on the studied fungi was investigated by small – well sump placing method and on the Mueller-Hinton medium according to CLSI Standard through measurement of the colony diameter and evaluation of transparent corona. Following culture of the rhizosphere bacilli and their study, it was specified that 11 isolates of the spore- possessing gram – positive bacillus were suspicious of bacillus which, using the conducted biochemical tests, 5 cases of these gram- positive bacilli were identified as the bacillus cereus , and , also , their anti- fungal effect on the desired fungi. Discuss ion and conclusion: Considering the conducted tests and others’ studies, it is specified that a number of bacilli in the soil can have antagonistic effects with available human and animal pathogenic fungi. Of course , pursuit of the metabolites produced from these bacilli which have a controlling effect on growth of the fungi is necessary
