چکیده مقاله:
The phenomenon of infanticide is a strategy and reproductive behavior among mammals, especially rodents. This behavioral phenomenon is very common among some mammals, especially rodents. Behavior is a debatable topic in the science of biology of mammals and is being studied. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the effective dose of fenugreek hydro-alcoholic extract on childbirth behavior among mammals, especially male mice. This study was performed on 10 mice (30-35 gr) in two groups (5 mice in each group). The first group of animals received a hydro-alcoholic extract of fenugreek seed (0.5 mg/kg) as the treatment group and the second group (control) distilled water (placebo) received gavage every 48 hours for 20 days. At the end of the treatment period, four infants (4 days) were placed in hermetic cages for 15 minutes and the childbirth behavior was evaluated. Data were analyzed by SPSS software. The results of this study showed that in the treatment group, the incidence of infanticide decreased compared to the control group (p <0.05). The results show that the hydro-alcoholic extract of Fenugreek seeds has a positive effect on reducing the number of infanticide in mice. Therefore, this effective dose of Fenugreek extract may have moderating effects on parent s behavior.
