Study of stabilization of bitumen emulsions

The understanding of the stability mechanism of bitumen – in – water emulsion directly effects the transport, the storage and the application of bitumen emulsions. In order to have a bitumen emulsion with high stability which satisfies all the standard characterization of a sutiable emulsion, we half focused our attention to the methods of stabilizing against settlement and creaming. Therefore the stability of several emulsion prepared in the presence of different amount of solvent in the bituminous phase were investigated at different pH and all necessary tests were conducted on the samples to achieves the best condition in producting a complete stable emulsion.
