چکیده مقاله:

Current study is an effort to gather and summarize the environmental impacts of urban landscape dynamics presented in existing literature. This review is divided into two main sections. In the first one, we present some brief definitions and explanations of the concepts of ‘landscape’, ‘urbanization’ and also ‘dynamics of landscape’ in order to clear the relationship between urbanization and dynamic of landscape. In the next section, the environmental impacts of urban landscape dynamics from different aspects and on various environments and ecosystems are summarized. Finally, it could be concluded that because of various, extensive and significant effects of urbanization on environment, the study of the spatial-temporal dynamic of urban landscape pattern and its likely environmental impacts is necessary to identify development alternatives having the least harmful impacts on environment toward which the future development could be directed.
