Optimum use of daylight has an important role in sustainable and high-performance architecture. Thus, it is influential in the health quality of the building users in addition to reducing energy consumption. Using a daylight control system on building skin has a positive impact on the reduction of electric energy consumption and thermal behavior of the building, and natural lighting quality of the space. Vertical louvers are one of the most effective systems controlling daylight, and reduce the amount of glare inside the building in addition to controlling daylight. This study investigates the impact of vertical louver parameters including size, spacing and rotating angle on the natural lighting efficiency in an office space in Tehran climate. All the simulations are carried out using DIVA-for-Rhino software. The results indicated that the vertical louvers set straight and 15 degree west-turned have the highest efficiency for office space in Tehran.
