Power consumption has long been a concern for designers of computer systems and inparticular the embedded systems, for this reason, it is very important to investigate andanalyze the solutions and select the appropriate methods for power consumptionmanagement in a variety of digital systems, such as embedded systems. Generally,power consumption management methods in the embedded system are classified intostatic and dynamic categories. From these two methods, the dynamic method isconsidered an appropriate solution, because in the dynamic method, you can makenecessary changes on-line and during the work, and, depending on the circumstances,perform optimum power consumption management. One of the methods of dynamicpower consumption management in embedded systems is to use Dynamic Voltage andFrequency Scaling (DVFS). Therefore, in this paper we study and evaluate variousresearches in this field. We will present the methods studied by researchers, and extractthe strengths and weaknesses and quality of service parameters. One of the strengths ofusing the DVFS method is to improve and reduce power consumption and energy in theembedded systems which have been used as a proper solution by the researchers. Onthe other hand, using this solution in some systems will create additional costs andoverhead, which should be considered. Also, in this research, we introduce the averagepower and energy consumption, time constraint and failure parameters as the mainquality of service parameters.
