چکیده مقاله:

The wind generators power output fluctuates due to variable nature of wind energy. As power balance is a major necessity in stand-alone application of wind energy conversion systems, energy storage is crucial. Utilizing a vanadium redox flow battery with wind energy application, has many attractive advantages. In order to this advantages, in this paper, utilizing a vanadium redox flow battery with a stand-alone small wind energy conversion system is modelled. The proposed model was evaluated with the measured wind speed data of the Kish Island in the Persian Gulf. By using this model, the total output power of the wind energy conversion system and the power stored in the vanadium redox flow battery were obtained during one year. Also this model regards to the wind data for intended area, could calculate the surplus and shortage of the wind power in each section of the year. Thus the balance of output power of the system and the effect of utilizing the vanadium redox flow battery on this balance was evaluated respectively.
