The Translation of Emotional Expressions in Business TED Talks from English into Persian

Emotional complexity alludes to two types of contents in emotion self-reports: dialecticism and granularity in the experience of emotion. Implicitly in both cases refers to the supposition that self-reports are verbal behaviors that can be analyzed in a way that unearths the structure of emotion experience. This paper studied the methods of expressing emotion-related words by means of both implicit and explicit tools of cognitive processing. Traslatability of emotion concepts and elements from English into Persian as a kind of unique lens through which new directions could be illuminated in the study of the relationship between languages and emotion-related matters were investigated. Tenbusiness TED talks scripts were examined. The method was descriptive and the theoretical framework was based on Newmark (1988). The results indicated that English and Persian subtitles were similar in their projection of emotional expression. However, the Persian subtitle scripts varied significantly from its English equivalent with regard to style.
