Comparative analysis of factors affecting on rate of saffron(Crocus sativus L.) yield increase

Diverse factors affect on saffron yield increase that a comprehensive study of each factor can affect considerably on economic-social situation of saffron farmers. For this reason in this study by use of obtained information and data and interview with saffron farmers in khorasan-Razavi selected via statistical random sampling in 2018. In this study descriptive and inferential analysis of economic, social, technical,environmental and management factors affecting on saffron yield by applying SPSS software. Results showed that variables of age,cultivation area,saffron farmer experience ,yield gap,summer irrigation,and irrigation interval and plant spacing have significant effect on saffron yield.Results Results also showed that with respect to view of saffron farmers service presented by experts caused to increase about 29% yield increase.This yield increase obtained from 34% of saffron farmers using service of experts and training classes.It seems that training classes were not enough and also experts referring to the farms lack or without enough efficiency.On the other hand,with respect to farmers age,and education ,establishment of a typical farm of saffron in practice that shows application of research findings can be very effective in saffron yield increase.
