چکیده مقاله:

Objective: Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Despite advances in early detection and standard treatment, non–small-cell lung cancer is often diagnosed at advanced stages and has poor prognosis. microRNAs (miRNAs) are a new class of non-coding RNAs regulating various biological processes including proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Alterations in miRNAs expression are reported in several human cancers, which suggest their potential roles in tumor initiation and progression. Several studies have shown that we can use these non-coding RNAs asbiomarkers for early detection of diseases. MiR-491 is known to negatively regulate TP53 and BcL-xl therefore its aberrantexpression could negatively affect TP53 and apoptosis regulatory pathway. In addition, the expression of miR-491 significantly reduced in colorectal cancer. It seems that miR-491 might have role in cancer. Methods: In this study RNA was extracted from lung tumor and non-tumor tissues. Real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assays were performed with PARSGENOME MiR-Amp kit and EVA green master mix. A real time result was analyzed with REST 2009 and GraphPad software. Results: Real time PCR results showed that miR-491 expression significantly increased in lung tumor tissues . Our data revealed that unlike other cancers miR-491 expression is increased in lung tumors. According to the role of miR-491 in cellular pathways we can say that miR-491 probably has a role in tumorigenesis. It seems that miR-491 has role in lung cancer. miR-491 might influence apoptosis and P53 pathways in lung tumor
