چکیده مقاله:

Recurrent miscarriage (RM) is defined as a condition that three or more consecutive pregnancies end in miscarriage of the fetus before twenty weeks. The reason of 50% of cases with RM is unknown. One of the probable reasons for idiopathic RM is failure in immunologic system. In cases with RM have shown some differences inimmunologic cell count and levels of immunologic factors such as Natural Killer Cells (NK-Cells) and cytokines. T-helperlymphocytes play a major role in anti-inflammation response by producing cytokines including interleukins (ILs). Interleukin 6 produced by different immunologic cells and expressed in the female reproductive tract and plays a regulatory role in embryo implantation and placental development (1). Cytotoxic T-Lymphocyte Antigen 4 (CTLA-4) performs as amediator in antigen-specific apoptosis and suppresses proliferation of T cells. Importance of CTLA-4 has been clarified inmany autoimmunity disorders (2). Also CTLA-4 is a good candidate for recurrent miscarriage (3).Materials & Methods: In this study we investigated A/G substitution in 49 position in the first exon of CTLA-4 Gene and C>G polymorphism in -634 position in promoter of IL6 gene in women with idiopathic RM in south of Iran. Fifty women with RM and fifty women as a control group participated in our study. These polymorphisms were evaluatedby PCR-RFLP method on extracted DNA from peripheral blood cells. Results & Discussion: According to our results there was no significant association between polymorphisms in CTLA-4 and IL6 and RM, although process of this study is not finished yet.
