چکیده مقاله:

The goal of most media messages is to persuade the audience to believe or do something. These persuaders use a variety of techniques to grab people’s attention, to establish credibility andtrust, to stimulate desire for the product or policy, to motivate us to act, to change our beliefs and make new ones and so on. The aim of this essay is to present the power and influence of linguistic modes of mass media and to show how they shape or change people’s thoughts, beliefs, behaviors and identity. These are made by using different linguistic techniques and strategies for specific purposes. To understanding the persuasive language and techniques of media, basic steps are suggested to the readers. The approach used in this research work is linguistics, since it shows how the language can be used effectively to absorb and influence the audience or readers in different ways towards different goals or aspects of life. The conclusion shows that mass media can have direct, indirect, positive, negative, impressions on people’s lives, based on what they think or decide to do purposefully or unconsciously
