چکیده مقاله:

Global environmental concern, regarding the use of nonbiodegradable petroleum based packaging materials, has been encouraging researchers, industries and governments in the quest for alternativ materials made from natural biopolymers. Biobased packaging is made from raw materials originatin from natural sources, such as starch, cellulose, chitin or biodegradable synthetic polymers such as, polycaprolactone The production of nanocomposites is a way to improve the functional properties of biopolymer films [1]. In this study, the effect of coating with polycaprolactone (PCL), nanocrystalline cellulose (NCC) and zinc oxide (ZnO) nanocomposites on the optical properties (Brightness and opacity) of the coated papers was investigated. For this purpose, the coating materials with specified conditions (PCL 10, NCC 4 and 6%, ZnO 3%) were coated on the surface of the papers. According to figure 1, the results showed that the brightness of the coated papers enhanced with increment of NCC percentage but the opacity decreased.with combination of the coating materials, the nanocomposites with more percentage of NCC , made the best brightness in the coated papers compare to the control sample, but they had a reverse effect on the opacity.
