Nickel-Copper Nano Composite: Sol-Gel Preparation Via Starch Media

The use of natural polymers in the synthesis of nanomaterials can be a cost effective andecofriendly approach. In this work we report the green chemistry synthesis of Nickel-copper nanocomposite via sol-gel method using starch. The nano composite was obtained by calcination ofprecursor at 400°C under air atmosphere. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) imaging showed theformation of nano composite in the scale of nannometer. The powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD)analysis confirmed the purity of produced nanoparticles. The synthesis of Nickel-coppernanocomposite in starch media were found to be comparable to those obtained from conventionalmethods using hazardous polymers or surfactants and can be an excellent alternative for the synthesisof nanomateials using biomaterials.
