چکیده مقاله:

Due to the attractive mechanical behavior, composite pipes are widely used in different applications. Considering the conditions of Installation and the usage of these pipes, it is necessary that inspections and non-destructive tests (NDT) done continuously to ensure their safety. Between the different methods of NDT for pipe inception, ultrasonic guided wave testing allows inspecting a long range of the pipe from a single location and it also provides the possibility of inspection inaccessible regions of the pipe. However, the interpretation of wave propagation especially in composite pipes is a very important part to find the defects. In this paper, the propagation of torsional guided waves in an intact composite pipe has been studied by finite element simulation. In addition, using the group velocity curve, the numerical results have been verified by analytical results. The results indicate that lay-up configuration could affect the velocity group significantly.
