The main aim of this study is to shed light on efficacy of mobile devices in translation classes through an examination of both learners and instructors’ point of view and the applications used by the learners and those encouraged by the instructors. To conduct the study a sample of 125 undergraduate students majoring in English Translation at Kashmar Higher Education Institute, Iran, was asked to fill out two questionnaires. Four instructors at the same institute were also interviewed. The collected information was analyzed using Statistics software (SPSS) version 18 for descriptive statistics. The findings of the study revealed that the majority of students are interested in using Google Translate and they preferred it over other tools. Students also have a positive view on applying mobile devices in translation classes. Based on the results of the interviews, it was found that instructors encourage the students to use their mobile phones for note-taking, searching the internet, doing translation tasks, and using terminology databases. From the obtained results of the study, it can be concluded that mobile devices should be integrated systematically into the translation curriculum..
