چکیده مقاله:

The present review article is a brief account of the notion of human capital as a nonmonetary asset that can result in economic growth and monetary benefits in different organizations and institutions. This non-monetary view of capital was put forward by Pierre Bourdieu who emphasized the role of capital in successful social interactions. He was also quoted as saying that in different contexts or fields of activities, the more capital individuals had, the higher status they could expect to have. Moreover, the article focused on Bourdieu’s opinions regarding the habitus, a type of mental orientation that should be actualized, structured, and developed through training and interactions in a field. In the same vein, human capital was specially studied in the light of Bourdieu’s theory of field, habitus and doxa. Finally, some famous scholarly views on the relationship of human capital and education were offered and a number of strategies for developing human capital were suggested to managers if they expect to attain optimal levels of general outputs in their fields of practice
