Criteria for Designing Interactional Residence Complexes (for Elderly and Children)

The objective of this research is to achieve basics and criteria which should be considered in designing spaces for residence complexes in a way that alongside of providing a suitable area for physical abilities of old and retired people and children, it could satisfy their mental needs and could be able to connect social relations of these two generations and constructive activities. To do so, physical and mental characteristics of the old and the child and factors affecting their mental health in terms of biology, psychology, and sociology should be studied and investigated. Creating this residence complex using architectural instructions in one hand causes transfer of knowledge and experience from oldsters to children and increase in awareness of the next generation and on the other hand leads to improvement in mental and inner status of oldsters and children and consequently health of these two generations will increase and therapeutic costs will decrease. Guidelines which will be provided in this research is to create an architectural space suitable for emotional and motor abilities of oldsters and retired people and to enjoy benefits of their experiences for next generations and to create a friendly environment for oldsters and children and to create achievable, usable, safe, comfortable, and in accordance with behavioral and motor patterns of these two age groups in spaces of residence complexes. To achieve this goal, research method is based on descriptive library research and different national and foreign references and also articles of national conferences have been used.
