چکیده مقاله:

Background: Nephrotic syndrome is one of the most common diseases in childhood which increases the complications in children, including complications of electrolyte disorders and its effect on the heart. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the QTc level in children with nephrotic syndrome hospitalized. Objectives: Evaluation of rate of QTc in children with nephrotic syndrome admitted 22 Bahman and Doctor Sheikh Hospitals in 2018. Materials and Method: This study was performed on 42 children with Nephrotic Syndrome. After obtaining patient consent and demographic data, incidence of prolonged QTc and laboratory findings were recorded. Chi-square and Mann-Whitney tests were used to compare the data. Results: The results of our study showed that the mean QTc of the subjects was 0.44 /0 0.053 (0.36 to 0.65), ie 20(47.6%) had normal QTc and 22 (52.4%) had abnormal QTc. Our findings also showed that the mean QTc in children with Nephrotic Syndrome was not significantly different by age (P> 0.05) but it was found that the mean QTc in girls with Nephrotic Syndrome was significantly higher than in boys (0.46) versus 0.44) (P 0.05). Conclusion: Different factors affect the physiopathology of prolonged QTc in patients with Nephrotic Syndrome. In our study only male gender is significant and should be investigated in future studies extensively on several factors and their simultaneous effect on prolonged QTc.
