Background: Anopheles Stephensi is known as an important vector of human malaria throughout the Middle East and South Asia. Many studies have been conducted on the bioecology and controlling of this vector in large insectariums around the world. One of the most important steps breeding this vector is feeding in the larval stage. The fly larvae have high levels of high quality protein. In some studies, this larvae have been identified as a good food for fish.Objectives: This research is aimed at introducing a new food for breeding A. stephensi with the aim of creating inexpensive and more active insectariums.Materials and Methods: In this study the last larval stage of L.sericata was frozen for 24 hours and then dried at 50 ° C for 8 h. One hundred larvae of A.stephensi were fed with larval powder, up to the pupal stage. A control group was also bred with insectarium regular food.Results: 100% of the larvae were survived until maturity. The first adult in the case group has emerged on the seventh day while the first adult in the control group was seen on sixth day. Body sizes did not show any significant difference between both groups.Conclusion: Our results indicate that the new rearing method supported the A. stephensi insectarium And this diet can be a good alternative to expensive supplement proteins.
