We consider the non-linear optimal control problems (NOCPs). The approach used to solve these type of the problem is based upon variatioanl iteration and parametriza-tion methods. Actually an appropriate parametrization of control is applied and state variables are computed by variatioanl iteration method (VIM). Then performance in-dex is transformed by replacing new control and state variables. The results whichare obtained by the given method has been compared with the results which are obtained using the spectral homotopy analysis method (SHAM), homotopy pertur-bation method (HPM), optimal homotopy perturbation method (OHPM), modi ed variational iteration method (MVIM) and di erential transform method (DTM). The comparison and ability of the given approach is illustrated via two examples.
