A Way for Improvement of Cervicitis and Vaginitis in Human Papillomavirus: A Case Report

Background and Aim : Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted infection.This article introduces a way for management of cervicitis and vaginitis in HPV.Methods : A 31-year-old woman presented with a 6- month history of HPV 40(HPV Low Risk Genotyping)and HPV16,39,68 (HPV High Risk Genotyping) with low grade squamous intra epithelial neoplasia andchronic erosive cervicitis with squamous metaplasia and focal koilocytic change in squamous cells(compatible with CINI/ LSIL). According to clinical examination, cervicitis and Vaginitis was seen in thiscase. Along with other treatment protocol for helping to control of local clinical manifestations includingcervicitis and Vaginitis in this patient, we used vaginal tampon with base of honey for every day in a weekand twice a week for 8 weeks.Results : After these during, cervicitis and Vaginitis of patient were improved.Conclusion : It seems that use of vaginal tampon with base of honey may be effective and safe way forcontrol of local clinical symptom in patients with HPV but for determine its positive effects in theseconditions, we recommend this way is used for more patients and it needed to further studies.
