چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : We designed this study to comparison of the serum level of Venous Endothelialgrowth factor (VEGF) in normal pregnant women and women with placenta accrete spectrumMethods : In this case-control study, we studied 45pregnant women in gestational ages of 28-34 weekswith pathological confirmation of placenta accreta spectrum and 46 gestational aged matched healthypregnant women from 2017 to end of 2018 that were under follow up of obstetrics clinics of ShirazUniversity of Medical Sciences and terminate in their hospitals. According to pathology reports of placentawe divided all cases to placenta accrete, precreta and increta. 3 cc blood samples from all participitantswere collected and serum level of VEGF by ELISA kit assayed. Collected data were entered to SPSSVersion 21.0 software. The level for statistical significance was set at 0.05.Results : The results showed that there was a significant increase in the gravidity, number of cesareansection, maternal age, in the placenta accrete, placenta increta, and placenta percreta groups compared tothe normal pregnancy group (p<0.001). There was no significant difference in the serum VEGFconcentration in placenta previa and no previa groups (p=0.248).Conclusion : in our study there is not any significant relationship between placenta accreta and normalplacental group detected. But the mean ranges of plasma level of VEGF in accrete group were higher thannormal group. Maybe larger study need for confirmation of the role of VEGF in pathogenesis of placentaaccrete spectrum.
