چکیده مقاله:

This paper observes the relationship between pollution emission CO2 and economic growth using data from the OPEC member countries over the2000-2011. Based on the theoretical impact of economic growth on pollution, we have modeled independent variables to include pollution emission CO2, energy consumption, population, investment and export. A random effect version of the panel data estimation procedure was used to obtain theparameter estimates. Research results show that: All of the variables are effective and just energy consumption variable showed negative impact and others have positive impact on economic growth. The negative impact of energy consumption on economic growth in this case study indicates that using of energy in OPEC members is inefficient. Investment and export have the greatest impact on economic growth in this case study and the positive impact of pollution emission CO2 on economic growth indicates that in OPEC countries is Two -way causality between pollution and economic growth.
