چکیده مقاله:

The smart microgrid is a concept which is aimed to integrate both renewable and non-renewable sources of energy into a small-scale network. Islanding operation regarding presence of distributed energy resources id one of the main feature of a MicroGrid (MG). However, in order to deal with the control challenges which a MG faces during operation, an efficient control strategy is required. In this paper, a new control algorithm based on utilizing a central stabilizer and implementing a load shedding strategy is proposed.In order to analyze the behavior of MG and effectiveness of the proposed strategy before actual implementation, real-time digital simulation is an indispensable and beneficial tool. In this paper, real-time simulation of MGs is implemented using discrete real-time simulation tool, Opal-RT platform. The real-time prototype for the MG with developing automated control strategies, embodying the load shedding scheme in islanded mode, is developed. For this purpose, the smart MG prototype is first modeled in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. Then, it is compiled to the Opal-RT and external hardware is connected to monitor the functioning of the MG. Conclusions were drawn after analysis real-time simulation results.
