چکیده مقاله:
Following the serious curriculum reform movement in ELT in Iran in the context of public seniorhigh schools, researchers have begun their evaluation of this movement from different aspects.Given the fact that, the shift has moved from more teacher-centered approaches to more learnerand learning-centered approaches, efforts are being made to weigh the strength of the currentELT curriculum against the previous one. This study is a macro evaluation of the coursebookdesigned for this CLT (Communicative Language Teaching) -based curriculum. The primaryaim of this study was to find out how the eighth grade teachers in public senior high schoolsevaluate the English coursebook English for Schools (Prospect 2) in terms of purpose, visualdesign, practice activities and exercises, and supporting sources. To fulfill this aim, a teacherquestionnaire was constructed by the researchers. The questionnaire was administered to 14randomly selected eighth grade teachers in the districts of Mashhad city. The data was analyzedby calculating the frequency counts, percentages, arithmetic means, and the standard deviationsof the responses given to the questionnaires According to the results of the study, the teachers were content with the coursebook and the levelof satisfaction was high among the teachers.
