چکیده مقاله:

The purpose of this survey centres on finding whether self-awareness and teaching critical thinking skills affect foreign language learners’ speaking proficiency. The participants of this survey were 40 male students from different High schools in Zahedan.The students were asked to answer to the self-awareness items extracted from Emotional Intelligence questionnaire, the students replied to the measuring my critical thinking questions, and finally the students answered to the English speaking proficiency test based on high school books. For data analysis correlation and regression ways of analyzing were employed. The results show a positiverelationship among speaking ability, self-awareness and critical thinking .Between two independent variables self-awareness tends to have a greater relationship with speaking ability of EFL than critical thinking. The beneficiaries of this survey are English students, English teachers, schools’ counselors, educators and curriculum designers
