Teaching English Grammar based on Post-Method VS. Traditional Method to Iranian EFL High School Students

EFL teachers must recognize what kind of grammar teaching strategies best facilitate learning in the classroom and choose the most beneficial ways for L2/FL learners. The present study aimed at examining the relationship between teaching English language grammar based on post method approach and traditional method ( GTM ) to Iranian EFL high school students, and as well as investigate the effectiveness different educational settings on the students' degree of grammatical knowledge based on these two methods. Based on a mixed-method design, there are experimental and control groups and also some students as interviewee participant. This study were conducted in 3 high schools in Yazd, Iran, with the participation of 360, female Iranian students aged at 15-16. After analyzing quantitatively ,for qualitative face of the study ,3 participants from every class will be selected purp osively for interview. Paired sample T-Test and Repeated Measure ANOVA and One Way ANOVA were the statistical tests which were used to answer the questions of the present study . All analysis were conducted using the Statistical Package for Social Science ( SPSS ) version 22. The results indicated that Post-Method approach was more effective than Traditional Method (GTM) and also different educational setting can effect the students' degree of grammatical of grammatical knowledge. The implications of this study were discussed.
