چکیده مقاله:

This study was an attempt to practically find out the role of young learners’ attitudes towardtheir teacher in their language learning. More specifically, it aimed to examine 1) therelationship between young learners’ attitudes toward their teacher and their scores inCambridge Young Learners English test (CYLE) and 2) the difference between the scores ofmale and female young learners regarding their attitudes toward their teacher. 52 youngEnglish learners (28 males and 24 females) who have been selected to pass the CYLE test ina private language institute filled out a questionnaire addressing English teachers’ differentcharacteristics. The data analysis revealed that 1) there is no relationship between younglearners’ attitudes towards their teacher and their scores in CYLE test, 2) there is nosignificant difference between the attitudes of male and female learners and, 3) there is asignificant difference between the scores of students and teacher characteristics. Although theresults of the present study do not confirm the findings of some of the previous studies, moreresearches in this field can be beneficial for foreign language teachers and teacher trainers.
