چکیده مقاله:

The present paper seeks to study Khaled Hosseini’s A Thousand Splendid Suns in the light ofFeminist Ethics of Care by analyzing different relationships of two major characters. It triesto show that ethics of care is not limited to women and can be applied to men, too.Traditionally, male moral experience has been highlighted as more valuable than woman smorality. To raise female morality to its rightful position, Feminist Ethicists focus on moralexperiences which have been neglected by male dominated perspectives. Carol Gilliganbelieves on women s involvement in the caring process and men are more connected to ethicsof justice. Khaled Hosseini as an Afghan-American writer brings to light the life of twoAfghan women who are under the oppressions of patriarchal society of Afghanistan. Thispaper will focus on the novel through the application of Virginia Held s ideas of feministethics of care in order to illustrate that men are also good care givers and will prove theexistence or non-existence of care in its political and social sphere.
