Ultra-narrow band of all-optical filter and 6-channel demultiplexer based on Nano-cavity resonance

In this paper, the design of an ultra-narrow bandwidth filter in a photonic crystal is presented. By increase of structural dimensions and changes in dielectric rods and waveguides, a demiultiplexer with the 6 output channels was designed. The selective wavelengths in this structure are based on resonant cavities. Proposed structure with hexagonal lattice and dielectric rods made of silicon and in air bed. FWHM is an index of the average value of the optical signal pulse full width. PBG show the photonic band diagram of the structure. The percentage of transmission in the proposed structure is 100%. The average bandwidth value in this structure is Δʎ=0.3nm. The quality factor is Q.f=5743.33, the value of cross-talk in the structure between the output channels is between -14dB to -51dB. The total dimensions of the filter structure are 116.64µm2 and the demultiplexer structure is 218.7µm2, Because of its small size, the structure can be integrated. Narrow band filters can be used in optical circuits for wavelength selection and filtering of optical amplifiers and also basic structure for designing demultiplexer in telecommunication systems. The simulation results use the finite difference time-domain method (2D-FDTD).
