چکیده مقاله:

The study of the biological effects associated with exposure to electromagnetic energy at radio-frequency/microwave (RF/MW) frequencies is a mature scientific discipline. At present, there are abundant papers in the scientific literature that report the results of laboratory studies of exposed animals, humans, in vitro preparations and other relevant studies. As a consequence there is an increasing public interest about health hazard due to radiofrequency field s exposure. Hemoglobin is very important biomacromolecule in human body. One of its essential functions is transporting oxygen to the tissues. The effect of electromagnetic forces (EMFs) on the structure and function of hemoglobin has never been studied before. In this research the effect of microwave fields in 910-940 MHz frequencies bands (which belong to mobile phone frequencies) on structure and oxygen affinity of human hemoglobin (HbA) was investigated. It is equipped an advanced system for induction of microwave frequency with high accuracy on hemoglobin. Hemoglobin was purified from fresh human blood. Oxygen affinity was measured by method of sodium dithionite with Uv/Vis spectrophotometer. The tertiary structural changes studied by circular dichroism and fluorescence spectroscopies. Effects of electromagnetic fields alter oxygen affinity of HbA. The results indicate the decreasing of oxygen affinity of radiated hemoglobin which shows the release of oxygen more than normal HbA in some conditions. Decreasing of oxygen affinity of HbA was dependent with EMFs intensity, buffer concentration and time of exposure.
