A Technical Report on Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks

Underwater acoustic technology and underwater communication are of those disciplines have continuously been studied. Today, underwater acoustic communications are very common in application such as underwater ranging, underwater environmental monitoring, and underwater exploration. However, since the communication between devices under water is different from on the land due to the nature of acoustic waves and other issues, the communication faces with various problems and challenges. These problems and challenges will be discussed in this article. Moreover, Aqua-sim, as a simulator suitable for simulation of these communications, and the instruments will be introduced.
