Effect of digital countdown timers on capacity of intersections

Due to the increasing population of cities and increased intra-city travel, intersection control methods are of great importance in order to reduce delays. Transport experts use traffic control devices, including traffic lights, to drive vehicles with minimal delay and to provide security and comfort for users of the urban transport network. In this research, for comparing the traffic flow parameters of the illuminated intersections, despite the inverse number and without it, the shahid Fahmide intersection of Kermanshah was selected and simulated using AIMSUN software. The results of the simulation of the intersection of the shahid Fahmide of Kermanshah showed in both cases with and without the inverse counter, all the parameters of the traffic flow including travel time, delay time, density, flow, stop time and stop count in the counter-off state It has been cut by about 24% and has been improved.
