NURSING INFORMATICS: An Overview

The use of intelligent agents and advances of agent-oriented platforms have promoted the implementation of distributed systems. Health systems are one of safety-critical distributed systems.Nursing information systems as part of the health care system deals with aspects of nursing is defined. : Nursing Informatics (NI) is defined as a technology that integrates computer Science, Nursing, Cognitive Science, and Information and Communication Technology to manage data, information, knowledge and wisdom in nursing practice. To meet the information needs of clinical nurse managers, administrative and legal concerns have developed a computer file. Currently, there are several computer systems that record information about the nursing management of the bed, the number of doctor visits, and clinical management. Implementation of NISs is always faced with the problem of insufficient training of end users. This paper presents an overview of NI and discusses on main challenges in this context. As future work, we will implement an NI model for an especial hospital and evaluate regarding quality factors
