چکیده مقاله:

Premature infants are exposed to a variety of disorders, especially types of anemia, due to their birth conditions and the underlying conditions. This disorder will impose additional health care costs on the health system. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of anemia in premature infants admitted to Amir al-momenin Hospital in Semnan. Methods: 300 premature infants who were admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit of Amir al-Momenin Hospital in Semnan during the years 2012 to 2017 were selected through a total number. Based on the hemoglobin level of 11 g / dl, the two groups were divided into non-infected and non-anemia patients and the neonatal and maternal factors related to anemia were compared between the two groups. Results: In newborns with anemia, non-infected, gestational age (27.49 ± 2.55 versus 31.68 ± 2.92 weeks and P <0.001), one minute apgar (4.71 ± 2.30 versus 6.75 ± 2.19 and P < 0.05), the five-minute apgar score (7.7 ± 1.45 versus 7.86 ± 2.23 and P <0.001) and birth weight (979.71 ± 391.37 versus 1749.26 ± 274.4 g and P <0.001) with a significantly lower difference and maternal age (29.29 ± 3.54 versus 29.16 ± 5.47 and P = 0.009) was higher. Conclusion: In general, the results of this study showed that various causes such as low maternal hemoglobin levels, low gestational age, low birth weight, type of delivery (cesarean section), prolonged hospitalization period and various infections on the prevalence of anemia in infants prematurely effective.
