چکیده مقاله:

A depressive disorder is an illness that involves the body, mood, and thought. It affects the way a person eats and sleeps, the way one feels about oneself, and the way one things. A depressive disorder is not the same as a passing blue mood. It is not a sign of personal weakness or a condition that can be willed or wished away. Today, depression is one of the rifest disease and university students are in the range of the age that exposure affected with depression. This study was done with the aim of determining the impact of depression on listening of the English students of Arak Azad University. Samples were randomly chosen from English students of Arak Azad University in course of Oral Translation 1, 2, 3.Instruments for doing this research consist of: 21 test questioners (Beck) with 4 question of demographic information and two kind of listening questioners which were done in two stages. In the first stage, samples were chosen rondemly and at the end information analyses with Spss11.s and base on ANOVA,Ttest ,Chi2. The results clearly supported that among 56 students who served as subjects, 25 person (%44/6) were normal and 31 person (%55/4) had acute depression. Moreover, in listening test between 56 students who served as subjects, 22 persons (%39/3) got bad mark and 34 person (%60/7) got good mark. Between those who were weak (22 students) in listening, 8 person were normal and 14 person, acute depression. In addition, among those who were good in listening (34 students), 17 person were normal and 17 person were depression. According to these statistics, there is a significance relation between depression and listening.
