چکیده مقاله:

In the present study, the solution behavior of chromium in nickel crystal lattice was studied during milling process. For this purpose, Pure Ni and Cr were milled up to 40 h to form the nanostructured Ni(Cr) solid solution. X-Ray Diffraction and Scanning Electron Microscopy were used to study phase transformations and microstructural changes during the milling process. The results showed that the dissolution of Cr in Ni was started after 5h and completed after 30h of mechanical alloying. The formation of a fine lamellar structure during mechanical alloying was found to be the main reason for the solid solution formation. Nanostructured Ni(Cr) solid solution showed suitable thermal stability at 800 °C. The results of the present study also revealed that mechanical alloying process could be regarded as a high-potential technique to enhance solid solubility at room temperature.
