چکیده مقاله:

This paper provides Challenges in Reservoir Simulation forecasting water production of a Gas Condensate Reservoir to explain existing production problems and to subsequently optimize reservoir management for a gas field in South of Iran. In this field associated saline water production is an important issue in production resulting in a substantial productivity impairment of gas wells. In this field 36 wells have been producing 2190 MMScf/day gas to meet field deliverability requirement. Out of these 36 wells, 10 wells deal with saline water production associated with gas which gas production rate is limited to saline water production. The higher the gas rate, more salinity inassociated water and increasing in water rate but salinity of the associated water was less than aquifer salinity. Since there was no measured water production data of the field due to lack of water rate measurement in the last years, water production of wells has not been used in matching , resulting in a water production forecast less than what is really happening in the field. It is demonstrated that although the amount of produced water was not that much to be considered in simulation as a factor to match but it has to be measured in the field and has to be considered in matching as a critical term, since although associated saline water production in Iranian gas condensate reservoir is not considerable but it will be important after few years of production.
