Introduction: Learning is a lifelong process, regardless of our age, we all learn from differentlife circumstances. However, according to psychotherapist Carl Roger (1982), The onlylearning which significantly influences behavior is self-discovered, self-appropriated learning .A child with learning problems can not function successfully in school without adequatesupport from his teachers, parents and peers. A supportive atmosphere enables the child tobelieve in himself. This enhances his Reducing stress.Objective: Reducing stress plays an influential role in maintaining the well being of anindividual and its influential power is sometimes beyond one's imagination or awareness. Thisstudy attempted to discuss over the efficacy of play therapy on Reducing stress and inparticularly the development of Reducing stress in children with dyslexia. Since no study hasbeen conducted natively about the enhancement of Reducing stress of dyslexic children by playtherapy, this study was conducted to determine the efficacy of multi-axial play therapy on nativedyslexic children.Method: In this cross-sectional and experimental study 30 children referred to BehyadLearning Disorders Center of osku and ilkhchy , Iran, elementary School, aged 8-11 anddiagnosed with dyslexia, randomly were selected. A pretest-posttest design along with a 10-session procedure of play therapy was conducted to process the children in two groups of testand control by administering the (SCAS).Results: The (SCAS) scores within pretest posttest for the both control and test groups analyzedwith T-test and correlation between results as statistical analyses (P<0.05), showed the internalvalidity of the experiment by comparing the posttest and pretest results of the control group,external validity by comparing the pretest results of both the control and test groups, and a verysignificant rise in the (SCAS) scores and enhancement of Reducing stress in the test group,comparing the results of the pretest and posttest for the test group (P<0.05).Conclusions: The study and results showed the efficacy of play therapy as a viable anddevelopmentally appropriate intervention for children experiencing both dyslexia and Reducingstress. As an alternative for other risky treatments and long term complicated psychotherapy,play therapy is suggested as an effective therapeutic procedure involving no any significant riskto enhance and build higher Reducing stress in these children.
