Objective: The current study carried out to identify the parasite fauna of three Capoeta spp fish in Beheshtabad and Kyar rivers in Chaharmahal & Bakhtyari Province. The examined fish species belong to mesopotamian region and are native fish and important species as a genetic reserve. Method & Materials: Overall 90 Capoeta spp fish specimens caught from Kyar and Beheshtabad Rivers including Capoeta aculeata, Capoeta damascina, and Capoeta capoeta gracilis were examined for any parasitic infestation during summer 2006 to summer 2007. Parasites were identified in order to morphologic, morphometric and morphomeristic characterizations of the parasites. Results & Conclusion: Fifteen parasite species comprising Ichthyophthirius multifiliis and Trichodina sp from Protozoans, Myxobolus musayevi from Myxozoans, Dactylogyrus lenkorani, Dactylogyrus pulcher, Dactylogyrus sp1, Dactylogyrus sp2, Gyrodactylus sp from monogenean parasites, Allocreadium isoporum, A. pseudaspii and A. laymani from Digenean parasites, Bothriocephalus gowkongensis cestode, Rhabdochona sp Nematode and Lamproglena chinensis from Crustacean parasites collected from different organs of fishes. Lamproglena chinensis from the parasites above found to be new for Iran's freshwater fishes.
