Improvement Strategies in the Coastal Zone of Rudsar City, Iran (A Case Study: The Area from Sarpol-e-Sharghi to Hassansara)

The coastal zone of Rudsar is of utmost importance for tourism purposes as the longest coastline city of Northern Iran. Considering its points of strength, this zone can be considered as one of the major poles of recreation and tourism. Despite the planning of numerous thematic and topical projects for the coastline of Rudsar in recent years, we continue to see confusion, which reflects the lack of integrated management in the organization of this zone. What is important in this regard is the knowledge of functional components in coastal zones, cultural and environmental indicators, climatic conditions and environmental requirements. In the first step, this article analyzes the current situation of Rudsar coastline using field studies in terms of all the above components. In the second step, the present study evaluates the data using SWOT analysis. In the third step, it attempts to extract several strategies via logical reasoning. And finally in the last step, the study determines executive measures and solutions for the implementation of these strategies in different time periods.
